Jakob Jung farms in Erbach, on the flatter ground close to the river where the Michelmark sits. The estate opened its cellars on 4 September 2025 and put out something in the region of thirty bottles, running the full range from dry Kabinett to a 2007 Michelmark Eiswein.

Four wines, one vineyard, four different routes to sweetness. Everything we left with came from the Erbacher Michelmark, which makes this the most useful tasting of the Rheingau days: Auslese, Beerenauslese, Eiswein and Trockenbeerenauslese off the same slope, with the Eiswein and the Beerenauslese sharing a vintage. All four came to a hundred and seventy-two dollars. The same afternoon, a single half bottle of Auslese from the far more famous estate up the road at Kiedrich cost sixty-six.
