Château de Pommard
Cuvée: Grand Vin du Château de Pommard 2008
Burgundy Red
One of those wines that makes you stop, look at the bottle, and say: more please!
This was terrific. Great body, with layers of dark cherry and plum, subtle floral and spice notes, silky tannins and a long finish that just kept going. Everything was in balance, and the wine had that rare combination of depth and elegance. One of the best Burgundy Pinots I’ve had recently. A few sips in, this became one of those “wait, what are we drinking here?” bottles. It genuinely gave me goosebumps — there was just something special about it.
(Even my friends who normally think boxed wine is just fine started paying attention after a few sips, yes I do share.)
