Carneros Chardonnay 2017
Carneros, California White
Oakier than I usually want, but quality is quality
A very good example of a richer Carneros Chardonnay. Medium to full-bodied, with ripe apple and pear, a touch of lemon, noticeable oak and a dried hay note that kept coming through for me. Creamy, but with enough acidity to keep it from getting too heavy. This isn’t really my preferred style of Chardonnay — I generally lean away from the richer, oak-driven side — but it’s hard not to appreciate the quality here. Well made, balanced and very drinkable.
